How do students learn?
Students are taught using a variety of teaching strategies within my classroom, so I am able to reach a broad range of learners. Differentiated instruction allows for me to instruct all levels of language acquisition and help students experience success in the classroom. I utilize in-class listening and speaking exercises, as well as reading authentic materials with directed written responses rather than use a textbook or student workbook. Cultural components of the curriculum are added in throughout each thematic unit we complete.

About Me
¡Hola! My name is Amanda. I am currently in my 10th year as a teacher. As I am the only foreign language teacher in the building, I currently teach all levels of Spanish. I have three sections of Spanish I, two sections of Spanish II, and one section of Spanish III/IV.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 from Northern Michigan University with double majors in Spanish and English. I have a variety of teaching experiences in English 9, English 10, Creative Writing, Speech, Advanced Grammar and Composition, as well as all levels of Spanish. In 2013, I also received my Master's' Degree from NMU as a K-12 Reading Specialist.
In my time outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and two children, gardening, travelling, reading, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
I try to keep grades as up to date as possible, but as always, don't hesitate to email me at any time with questions or concerns.
Please feel free to email me at [email protected]
